Hotel Hőforrás is a member of Hortus Naturae Hotels chain. The hotel’s building was first opened as a SZOT-ÉDOSZ holiday centre in 1972. By that time 182 trade union members could enjoy the holiday centre. Visitors of the “ÉDOSZ” (National Trade Union of Workers of Food Industry) holiday centre all had a medical reference.
Guests of the centre initially had to visit other hotels’ thermal spas for medical treatments. In 1995 Hőforrás Thermal Hotel was established by Hotel Hőforrás Ltd. and afterwards – due to the investments – own covered and open pools, sauna, solarium and bubble spa broadened the services offered to visitors in the hotel. The covered thermal spa, bubble spa, sauna and solarium are continuously operating, however from May 1 to September 30 services are extended by a 20-metre swimming pool, outer thermal spa, children pool, buffet and playground offered in the hotel garden to guests longing for relaxation and leisure.

Guests of the hotel arrive to the “Mecca of rheumatics”. Hajdúszoboszló is located 20 km from Debrecen. Besides rich croplands, thermal water and gas fields, many hours of sunlight are also considered to be the treasure of the land. The water cure applied in the hotel has a curative effect on chronic arthritis, arthritic deformations, several inflammatory diseases of the spine, neuralgia, neuritis, paralytic condition following stroke or cerebral operation and sports injuries. It is also regarded to have a favorable effect on hotel guests suffering from gynecological disorders, infertility and dermatological diseases. However, it is not recommended in case of tumors, circulatory failure, hypertension or tuberculosis.

Sightseeing in Hajdúszoboszló
In Hajdúszoboszló not only thermal water is waiting for guests of Hortus Naturae Hotels, but also many sights. In Bocskai Street neighboring Hősök Square there is a Roman Catholic church, the interesting feature of which is that Pope John Paul II had visited it when he was the Archbishop of Kraków. In Bocskai Street there are four museums presenting the local history and ethnical values of Hajdúszoboszló. It’s worth to visit the Museum of Local History and Ethnography and the art gallery, where permanent and also temporary exhibitions are presented to those who are interested in the fine arts of Hajdúszoboszló. The most recently established institution is the International Modern Museum of Hajdúszoboszló, where contemporary artworks are exhibited. Guests of the hotel can take some extra walk and visit Gönczy Pál Street; the memorial of the victims of the 17th century Turkish military revenge stands in the park of the vocational school and college. Certainly, hotel guests may not forget about the pottery museum where artworks of craftsmen recently living in Hajdúszoboszló and making the famous black ceramics of Nádudvar can be seen.
