Debrecen Water Amusement Park opened in 2003 is awaiting guests of Hortus Naturae Hotels. Debrecen's bathes trace back to a long history. In the Great Forest the Municipal Bath was operating from the beginning of the 20th century; originally it had been a tub bath that was transformed into an open bath of multiple pools after discovering the thermal spring of Debrecen. Additionally an indoor swimming pool was built in 1932. Recently it has become a bath complex consisting of the open bath, therapeutic unit and Debrecen Water Amusement Park.
Activities for every age
Debrecen Water Amusement Park was opened in 2003. Visitors enter a bath hall covered by a 66-metre dome where genuine tropical atmosphere welcomes them all round the year either in summer or winter. Visitors of Debrecen Water Amusement Park are entertained by 11 slides, children's pool, swimming and waving pools, lazy river and bubble spa. Complete relaxation is provided by whirlpools; many of them (smaller and bigger ones) are waiting for visitors in Debrecen Water Amusement Park. More spirited visitors can try the climbing wall, and children's entertainment is also ensured by a cave and waterfall besides slides. In the hall of Debrecen Water Amusement Park full of tropical plants there are resting beds for visitors comfort; and if you get hungry, just sit down in the Mediterranean restaurant. In Debrecen Water Amusement Park a modern automated entrance and billing system operates ensuring that everybody pays only for the services he or she used. (Children under 3 years can enter Debrecen Water Amusement Park free of charge.) Visitors get a wristwatch on arrival that registers the time spent in the Park, restaurant bills, use of sauna or entering the thermal bath. The newest service of Debrecen Water Amusement Park started in 2004 is Thai massage. On the first floor of the Water Park there are special rooms dedicated for the purpose of massage. Thai masseurs working in authentic Thai environment have masters exam and learned the practice of Thai massage in the school of Wat Po temple, Bangkok. In Debrecen bath visitors can find every service they need. Besides Debrecen Water Amusement Park there is a thermal bath, an indoor swimming pool and in summertime an open bath. Visitors wishing to recover can take a water cure with complex effect on their body and soul. Important are the temperature and ingredients of thermal water and the mud applied for treatments. Before participating in the cure visitors are examined by professionals and the medical attendance traces the whole process. According to the medical report the cure is set up individually; besides treatments bathing is also accentuated. Duration of bath treatments is always determined by the nature of disorder and the visitor’s condition.
